Tech in Motion, a national event series aimed at bringing local tech communities together to meet, learn, and innovate, will host the thought provoking “Tech Panel: Data Science – Trusted Relationships and Scientific Innovations” in Orange County beginning next week. The event will be held in Irvine, CA, at The Cove in UCI Applied Innovation on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. Check-in and networking starts at 6:00 p.m., with the panel and Q&A concluding at 8:30 p.m. PST.

Discussions will cover speaker introductions and their experience with data science, how data science is being used today, how the public is impacted by innovations/advancements in data science, and career path advancements in the field. Attendees will range from senior-level technical leaders to students interested in the field.

Alex Bates, Mtell’s CTO and one of the six selected panelists, will share his experience ranging from applied analytics on large data warehouses, to co-founding Mtell and tackling big data problems in manufacturing. Bates has also been awarded several patents in the area of sensor networks and machine learning, which has contributed to the oil and gas, transportation, mining, water and wastewater, and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries. Additional participants in the panel include leaders from Hart, Payoff, Illuminate Education, Levyx and Cylance.
